CHP Warns Valley Commuters Of Fog Season
Modesto, CA — The California Highway Patrol along with the CalTrans officials are warning valley commuters of the onset of fog season.
Fog season usually extends from November through February.
CHP Central Division Commander Ron Newton warns drivers to be alert for rapidly changing driving conditions in the lower elevations of the central valley, and slow down in foggy weather.
CHP will have “Pace” units in place in the valley between Bakersfield and Modesto on foggy days when visibility is less than 500 feet. Officials say the Pace units are designed to slow traffic to a safe speed in situations of limited visibility.
CalTrans officials say several changeable road signs will also be in place to warn drivers of changing conditions.
