Calaveras, CA—Calaveras Masonic Lodge No. 8 marked its 175th anniversary recently, with a reconsecration ceremony attended by nearly 70 guests, Lodge officers and Masons from throughout the area.
The ceremony was led by Garrett Chan, Grand Master of Masons in California, along with several officers of the Grand Lodge of California. The gathering commemorated the Lodge’s 175 years of Masonic tradition and its continuing role in the local community. Chartered in 1850, Calaveras Lodge No. 8 has remained grounded in the traditional Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. Over its history, the Lodge has contributed to the community through charitable activities, service and leadership while providing a place for fellowship among its members.
During the reconsecration ceremony, Chan spoke about the Lodge’s history and its place within California Freemasonry, as well as the importance of continuing Masonic traditions for future generations. The anniversary gathering also brought together local Lodge members and representatives of the California Grand Lodge to recognize the milestone and the Lodge’s history.
With the 175th anniversary now marked, Calaveras Masonic Lodge No. 8 continues its activities in the community and as part of the broader Masonic organization.
