Thursday’s Accident Blamed on Drunk Driver

Sponsored by:

It seems Driving Under the Influence was the cause of yesterday afternoon´s single-vehicle accident near Chinese Camp.

35-year-old Lisa Ann Dufur was eastbound on a private dirt road west of Highway 49. The California Highway Patrol says she was driving too fast, went off the south edge of the roadway and slammed into an oak tree.

Her 94 Ford Tempo sustained major front-end damage, and Dufur had to be flown to Doctor´s Hospital in Modesto for treatment of major head trauma.

Officials also say alcohol use was indicated, and Dufur was placed under arrest.
