San Andreas, CA — Residents impacted by the Gann Fire will have a chance to meet with officials to learn about resources available to help with the recovery efforts.
A Local Assistance Center will be operational on Thursday, August 13, from 9 am – 7 pm at the Calaveras Health and Human Services Building (509 E. Saint Charles Street in San Andreas).
“Recovering from a wildfire can be overwhelming, especially when residents aren’t sure where to begin,” says Marcos Muñoz, Agency Director, Calaveras Health and Human Services Agency. “The Local Assistance Center brings resources together in one place to help residents identify available assistance and their next steps.”
Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointment is necessary. People should use the lower-level parking area and entrance.
Assistance includes replacing important documents, food and basic need resources, health information (including behavioral health), and connections/referrals to agencies and organizations.
Individuals and families impacted by the Gann Fire are encouraged to visit the center.
Agencies on hand are anticipated to include the American Red Cross, Calaveras Veterans Services, Calaveras Assessor’s Office, Calaveras Building Department, CA Department of Public Health, DMV, Contractors State License Board, Calaveras Environmental Health, and others.
