San Andreas, CA – Those wanting to help “Keep Calaveras Clean” can volunteer this weekend to pick up trash at Neilsen Park in San Andreas and get an update on an earlier cleanup this month in Murphys.
“Keep Calaveras Clean” is hosting a trash pickup tomorrow, Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; volunteers are needed to clean up Neilsen Park on 98 Main Street in San Andreas. Public works will offer garbage grabbers, trash bags, gloves, water, and trash removal. According to CCPW, volunteers must meet the following requirements:
- Prepare by wearing closed-toed shoes and bringing sunscreen and a hat.
- There are no age restrictions; however, minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Interested volunteers can sign up by contacting Idodge@calaverascounty.gov or calling (209) 754-6401, or just show up ready to pitch in.
Earlier this month, volunteers removed trash at Fenney Park in Murphys. Organizers report that volunteers collected five bags of trash and assorted pieces of metal garbage, like the poles seen in the image box.
