La Grange, CA — Tuolumne County District Attorney Cassandra Jenecke announces that criminal charges will be filed against 44-year-old Cinthia Beglinger of La Grange in connection with an hours-long standoff with law enforcement on August 27.

Charges include first-degree residential burglary with a person present, mayhem and personally inflicting great bodily injury on an elder, assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, and resisting an executive officer with force.
Beglinger was previously prosecuted by the Tuolumne County DA’s office and convicted of felony vehicular manslaughter and felony child abuse. In late 2020, she was given the maximum allowable sentence for those crimes of seven years and four months.
The Tuolumne County DA’s office reports that the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, however, released Beglinger after serving just 13 months, without even allowing the office to present a written objection.
Beglinger is currently being held without bail at the Dambacher Detention Center. She will be arraigned later today in Tuolumne County Superior Court.
