Peterson Jurors Break Before Deliberations
Jurors are getting a break before deliberations begin in the Scott Peterson murder trial.
Testimony has ended and closing arguments are now set for Monday in Redwood City, exactly five months after the jury heard opening statements.
Prosecutors had prepared to begin their rebuttal yesterday because the defense rested Tuesday.
But after meeting with attorneys in chambers, the judge returned to the courtroom and sent the jurors home until Monday.
The jury could get the case two days later.
The jurors have been free to go home every day, but they´ll be sequestered for
deliberations.
Peterson is charged with killing his pregnant wife, Laci, on or about December 24th, 2002, then dumping her body into San Francisco Bay.
Defense lawyers claim someone else abducted and killed Laci.
