Modesto Youth Hit By Car

The California Highway Patrol says an eleven-year-old girl was seriously injured by a car while walking to school yesterday. Officials say another eleven-year-girl had been sitting inside the car that hit Carmen Ortiz. Authorities say it´s unclear if the child in the car started it, or if it had been already running. But investigators say she stepped on the gas, causing the car to lurch forward.
