Hastings Faces 3 Years For Molestation

A plea of guilty was entered last week in the case of a Calaveras County man accused of committing a lewd and lascivious act on a child.
Thomas Hastings made the plea Friday in Calaveras County Superior Court.
Because of the serious nature of the charge, officials say Hastings will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Hastings will also need to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.
He´ll formally receive his sentence of three years in state prison at the end of August.
