Forecast Looking Good For Skiers
Folks at Dodge ridge ski area are pleased with the first major storm of 2003 and are optimistic they could see an earlier than normal opening if the storms keep moving across the Mother Lode mountain region
Another storm heading our way has the potential of dropping up to an inch of rain in the lower elevations and as much as one-to-two-feet of snow at the higher elevations by early Saturday morning.
Dodge Ridge spokeswoman Karrie Mathson said with the additional snow, their storm totals as of earlier this week are between nine-to-12-inches.
She says condition more snow is expected at the ski area near Pinecrest Lake starting Friday.
The ski area normally opens in mid-December.
“If accumulations continue to build, Dodge Ridge hopes for a Wednesday, November 26 opening,” Mathson said. She quickly added, “It´s really contingent upon Mother Nature whether that happens.”
But in the meantime, Matson says, “If the snow comes, we´re ready.”
