California ranchers are going high-tech to recover stolen horses. Some owners are implanting microchips in their horses´ necks. Other are collecting DNA samples from their animals´ hair and listing it with a DNA registry. Less than one quarter of the horses stolen in California are returned to their owners. Authorities want to improve that rate.
