Thunderstorms Concern Firefighters

Firefighters are concerned about forecasts for increasing winds and possible dry afternoon thunderstorms packing lightning through tomorrow in the area of the 22,000-acre Cannon Fire burning in the Sierra 30 miles north of Yosemite National Park.
Crew€™s report making good progress today on the blaze located near the town of Walker. About 1,400 firefighters are involved in the effort to slow the advance of flames on the southern flank of the blaze, with more firefighters on the way.
Fire officials say the blaze is only 15 percent contained, and they do not expect it to be contained for another nine days.
