Groveland A Step Closer To Assessment

Members of the Groveland Fire District board have verified the vote in that community for a yearly fire protection assessment. The $70.00 per year assessment for single family homes got a 61% to 49% approval. The board must still vote to actually form an assessment district and levy the fee. Revenue from it would make up for a shortfall in state money produced by the discovery of an accounting error in Tuolumne County.
