Firefighters battled several wildfires Tuesday afternoon.
A fire in the “Diamond XX” area of Copperopolis, off Highway 4 charred about 60 acres in a remote area of grass and woodland. Firefighters expected to have the blaze contained by late afternoon or early evening Tuesday. An air tanker and a CDF helicopter were called in to help knock down that fire. According to CDF there were no structures threatened and no one was hurt battling that blaze.
The second wildfire burned along Claribel Road near Oakdale in Stanislaus County. That fire was held to 20 acres.
