Changes Coming In Medical Claim Handling

State officials are hoping to speed up tens of thousands of medical claims filed each month in California. The new laws, which could be put into effect as early as this fall, would be among the toughest in the nation. They will call for stronger monitoring of H-M-Os and would force insurance companies to disclose their fee structure for medical services. The provisions would also make it harder for insurers to return claims to medical providers with requests for more information.
