“Barbie” Creator Dead At 85

Barbie´s creator has died. Her husband says Ruth Handler died yesterday at age 85, of complications after colon surgery. Handler co-founded the Mattel toy company and created the now-famous doll in 1959, naming it for her daughter, Barbara. More than one billion of the dolls have been sold in 150 countries.
