Former California Mayor In Prison

Former East Palo Alto Mayor R.B. Jones has reported to the federal prison in Lompoc to begin a two year sentence for bribery, mail fraud and lying on his tax returns. Jones´ attorney, Harold Rosenthal, says it´s likely Jones will be assigned to a low security camp where inmates sleep in open barracks. Rosenthal says Jones will probably spend 23 months of his 27 month sentence behind bars and then be released to a halfway house. Jones ran into trouble with the law back in 1999 when an employee of the California Water Service told the FBI Jones had tried to solicit a bribe.
