Tree Comes Down At Vet”s Hall

On the advise of an arborist, the large tree on the Jackson Street side of the Sonora Veteran´s Memorial Hall will be cut down Wednesday to make room for a new handicapped parking area.
In order to put in the new parking lot, the tree´s roots would be cut and eventually cause the tree to die and become a safely hazard.
Crews will be on hand to bring the tree down sometime Wednesday. Jackson Street, between Washington and Stewart streets, will be closed most of the day.
