Progress On Jackson Fire
Moccasin, CA — Cal Fire reports two air tankers have been released from the 60 acre Jackson Fire. The fire remains 15% contained. The flames broke out at 11:51 this morning at the intersection of Highway 49 and Jacksonville Road. Initially, several structures were threatened.
Cal Fire Spokesperson Nancy Longmore says, “There were no structures lost. It was mostly out buildings that faced any potential threat, no homes.”
Jacksonville Road is closed at River Road through 6 pm tonight. The CHP reports there will be no access to Highway 120, which may disrupt some motorists’ evening commutes.
On scene are 15 engines, 9 hand crews and 4 dozers. There was concern when a small spot fire jumped to the east side of Don Pedro early on in the blaze, but air resources quickly knocked it down.
