Meadow Fire 50% Contained
Yosemite, CA — The cost to battle the Meadow Fire in Yosemite National Park is up to $2.58 million.
The fire is 50% contained, and it has grown to 4,933 acres. Yosemite officials are hoping for full containment by September 21. No structures have been damaged, and there have been no injuries. 570 firefighters remain on scene. As reported previously, the Half Dome cables will re-open on Saturday.
The fire was first discovered on August 15, and it was caused by lightning. The fire has been burning on both sides of the Merced River, in the area of Little Yosemite Valley.
All roads are open this weekend heading in and out of Yosemite.
