Two Tapped To Retain Seats On Frog Jubilee Board
Calaveras County, CA – Governor Jerry Brown announced his reappointment of two Calaveras County residents the 39th District Agricultural Association, Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee Board of Directors.
One leaped onto the board in the 90’s, the other hopped on board just four years ago. Here are the new members and their backgrounds as provided by the Governor’s office:
Gay Callan, 66, of San Andreas, has been reappointed to the 39th District Agricultural Association, Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee Board of Directors, where she has served since 1991. Callan owned Chatom Vineyards and Winery until it was sold in 2015.
Gloria Grimes, 70, of West Point, has been reappointed to the 39th District Agricultural Association, Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee Board of Directors, where she has served since 2012. Grimes has been tribal chair of the Calaveras Band of Mi-Wuk Indians since 1990. She was a community health representative at the Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne Health Board Inc. from 1980 to 2007. Grimes is a member of the West Point Mi-Wuk Roundhouse, Mi-Wuk Dance Group and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3322.
There is no compensation given for these positions and they do not require Senate confirmation. Callan is a Republican, while Grimes is a Democrat.
