Early Fire In Rim Fire Footprint Is Fully Contained
Groveland, CA — A fire burning near Early Intake in the Stanislaus National Forest is fully contained.
What ignited the 187 fire acre fire on Monday afternoon remains under investigation, according to the Forest Service. The fire ignited off Cherry Lake Road, at approximately 2pm, within the 2013 Rim Fire burn scar. There remains 40 firefighters, three engines, two water tenders and a hand crew on scene this morning conducting mop-up operations. Cooperating agencies have included CAL Fire, the Sierra National Forest, the Angeles National Forest, Sequoia National Forest and the City and County of San Francisco/Hetch Hetchy Water and Power.
The fire is situated in the Groveland Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest.
