Transmission Main Work Underway Impacts Valley Springs Area Traffic

Sponsored by:

Valley Springs, CA – A transmission main replacement between two water tanks in the Valley Springs area of Calaveras County will impact traffic.

Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) has hired D.A. Wood Construction Inc. out of Oakdale to complete the Jenny Lind-Rancho Calaveras A-B Water Transmission Pipeline Project. It involves constructing a new transmission main from Tank A to Tank B, following Hartvickson Lane, then along Baldwin Street, Usher Drive, and Wind River Road to the existing Tank B site. The replacement main will be 14-inch diameter for the first 13,600 linear feet and 12-inch diameter for the last 6,500 linear feet before Tank B, according to CCWD, adding, “The goal is to remove the hydraulic bottleneck and improve conveyance to Tank B. The pipe material will be ductile iron. The project aims to improve conveyance to Tank B.”

The work will continue through 2025; no exact date for completion was given. Segments of Hartvickson Lane will be closed as crews work from one tank toward the other. The hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be a designated detour for motorists who are asked to follow on-site personnel instructions. Delays could be up to 5-10 minutes. Click here for additional information on the project. Any further questions, contact D.A. Wood Construction Inc. at (209) 491-4970.
