Events The Weekend Before Thanksgiving
There are many events planned for the weekend of November 23rd, and 24th. First, Friday at 7 PM Sonora will travel to Woodland Christian in the Sac Joaquin Division 6 playoffs. Sonora Wildcats Football games air live on KVML 1450AM/102.7 FM, with Nick Stuart and Zeb Drivdahl, listen online here. Summerville is in the Sac Joaquin Division 7 playoffs and will host Big Valley Christian at 7 PM. Summerville High football airs live on 93.5 KKBN with Mike Woicicki and Mike Rodgers.
St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will hold its annual Christmas Fair Saturday and Sunday. The event is free and will feature gift booths, gift baskets, a bake sale, and prize drawing. A burrito or tostada lunch will be available on Saturday only from noon to 4 PM details are in the event listing here.
The Bret Harte Golf Tournament Fundraiser will take place at Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort in Angels Camp Saturday. The four man scramble has a shotgun start at 10 AM.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) supports hundreds of large and small Survivor Day events around the world, in which suicide loss survivors come together to find connection, understanding and hope through their shared experience. In Sonora the International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day will be held at the Game Room on Saturday from 9 AM to 11 AM.
Tuolumne County Public Works Department, Solid Waste Division, will be hosting Green Waste Dollar Dump Days for Tuolumne County residents. The event is Saturday from 8 AM to Noon and 1 to 3PM at the Cal Sierra Earth Resource Facility on Camage Avenue. Dispose up to one cubic yard of hazardous vegetation for only one dollar.
7th Annual Crafty Chicks Holiday Market is Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Calaveras Fairgrounds in Angels Camp.
Murphys Park Farmers Market invites the community to get in the holiday spirit at its holiday market from Noon to 4 PM. There will be local artisan food and gifts and live music, plus kids crafts. Details are here.
Pine Mt Lake Flea Market and Yard Sale is weather permitting at the Pine Mountain Lake Stables in Groveland from Noon to 4 PM.
A Bird Walk will be held at Indigeny from 8 AM to 11 AM on Sunday and later from 2 PM to 4pm is the Sonora Mountain Bike Fun Ride
Sunday, the Calaveras Community Band is holding its first concert since 2019 in the Dr. Elliot A. Smart Performing Arts Center at Bret Harte High School. The free Calaveras Community Band Fall Concert starts at 3 PM and will feature Broadway medleys, classic Souza marches, and more.
