Calaveras Community Foundation Donates Nearly $20,000 To Organizations
San Andreas, CA — It was a good year for the non-profit Calaveras Community Foundation as nearly $20,000 worth of grants were awarded to 11 organizations.
Foundation President Brent Harrington says grants ranged from money to help upgrade the kitchen at the Calaveras County Senior Center to the Copperopolis Community Center´s church renovation and music scores for the Calaveras Community Band.
“Our grants aren´t big in the true financial sense,” says Harrington. “We purposely like to spread our money around both geographically and to many projects.”
The grants ranged between $500 to $5000. Grants went to Common Ground Senior Service, Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth, Soroptimists International of Calaveras County, Calaveras Mentoring, Valley Springs Friends of the Library, WATCH Resources, HRC Food Bank and others.
Since 2001, the Foundation has awarded more than $220,000 grants and scholarships.
