Valley Springs’ Sturgil Indicted By Federal Grand Jury
San Andreas, CA — A federal grand jury has indicted 31 year old Brandon Russell Sturgil of Valley Springs for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and for being a felon in possession of firearms.
Sturgil was arrested on December 1 following a traffic stop. Deputies recovered more than 50 grams of meth and a firearm. Still another firearm was discovered at his residence.
Reached in Orin, Wyoming on a pheasant hunting trip; Calaveras County Sheriff Dennis Downum commented, “I´m very hopeful this is going to send a message to a lot of people in our county that if you´re going to deal in methamphetamine and you feel a need to arm yourself, the federal government is going to cooperate with us. I think Mr. Sturgil is looking at the possibility of 50 years. He´s just not going to be a problem for our county anymore.”
