Snow And Ice Cause Multiple Accidents: One Involves School Bus

Sonora, CA — Snow and ice across the Mother Lode are causing multiple vehicle accidents this morning.
As of 9am, the CHP is investigating 12 collisions in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. Traffic has been at a standstill at select areas of Hwy 49, Hwy 4, Hwy 108, Hwy 26, Tuolumne Rd. and many other areas.
One accident involved a school bus from Calaveras Unified School District colliding with an embankment on Hwy 26 near the Three Way Café shortly before 8am.
CHP Officer Jaime Castillo says students were on board, but no one was hurt.
The CHP is asking motorists to slow down and travel with caution today. A National Weather Service Winter Storm Advisory is in effect until 4pm.
