Schroeder And Friends Bid Farewell With Final Concert
Sonora, CA — Todd Schroeder performed his 15th and final Young Artist Grant concert Monday night at the Sonora High School Auditorium.
Since 1995, the event has helped fund scholarships for over 30 graduating seniors. Schroeder plans to shift his focus to other volunteer events in the L.A. area where he now lives, and stay active in causes that benefit his young children.
"When I think about all the memories and people who have been here, it is really overwhelming," says Schroeder. "To accomplish something and give it a beginning, middle and end is something you don’t always have a choice of, and it has been very special."
Schroeder presented Sonora High’s Steve Southard with a plague for helping to organize the event over the past 15 years. Schroeder also took time to honor his mother Sally for being an ispiration and instilling in him a volunteer spirit.
The concert lasted nearly three hours, and it was concluded with his rendition of Billy Joel’s "Piano Man."
Other performers included Wendy Tuttle, Kevin Fisher, Thomas Lauifi, Andrea Hamilton, Staci Brandt, Valeri Lopez, Tim Christensen and Otis Hayes.
