Rollover Accident Injures Pair From Valley Springs

Valley Springs, Ca — Two Valley Springs residents were airlifted to a hospital in Modesto with serious injuries following a rollover accident late Monday night near the Hogan Dam area of Calaveras County.
The CHP says that 28-year-old Phillip E. Fernandez Jr. failed to negotiate a turn on Hogan Dam Rd. north of Whiskey Rd. and his Chevy Camaro vaulted down a steep embankment. Fernandez, along with his passenger 44-year-old Mindy J. Prater, were ejected from the vehicle and unconscious when emergency crews arrived on scene.
The CHP says both were intoxicated and neither was wearing a seatbelt. The accident was reported at 11:15pm.
