Fire Crews Have Phoenix Lake Fire Under Control

Sonora, Ca — Fire crews have now been able to slow the vegetation fire at 14740 Lakeside Drive in the Phoenix Lake area, and it is near containment.
According to Steve Gregory with Tuolumne County Fire, crews will remain on scene for the rest of the afternoon and into the early evening.
Gregory says wind likely caused the debris burn to escape, which scorched approximately five acres. He says it serves as a reminder to use extra caution when burning during this time of year.
No structures were affected as a result of the fire.
