Sonora Regional Medical Center To Offer Radiation Oncology Services
Sonora, CA — It´ll be a four month wait but Sonora Regional Medical Center will be offering a radiation oncology program within its Cencer Center come November.
V.P. for Business Planning and Marketing Doug Duffield states that the hospital has purchased the state-of-the-art Siemens Oncor Impression IMRT Plus. This equipment will allow the Medical center to perform the advanced treatment protocols of today and is designed to have the flexibility and upgradeability necessary for tomorrow´s treatments.
In addition S.R.M.C. is installing a 6-slice CT for treatment planning and Emergency Department backup.
The hospital has recruited Board Certified Radiation Oncologist Dr. Mihoko Fujita from Washington, D.C. In addition four former OnCure employees will be joining the staff including Dr. Georg Weidlich who will establish the new program and ensure that it receives state licensing.
