Charges Related To Telegraph Fire Could Come Next Week

Sponsored by:

Mariposa, Ca — By late next week, Mariposa County District Attorney Bob Brown says there should be a decision made on whether charges will be filed related to the Telegraph Fire that scorched over 34,000 acres near the entrance of Yosemite National Park.

The catastrophic fire started on July 25, and fire officials have stated that it originated as a result of target shooting.

?CAL Fire has indicated that they have completed their investigation, and they forwarded their report to me this past Monday,? says Brown. ?We´re awaiting a report from our Sheriff´s Department that´s a collateral matter to this. We´ll take a look and see if we believe that a crime has been committed, and whether the evidence supports charging an individual or individuals with a particular crime.?

Law enforcement is currently witholding the names of any individuals connected with the Telegraph incident.
