Transitional Housing Facility Discussed By Columbia Planning Commission
Columbia, Ca — A transitional housing project being spearheaded by the Amador Tuolumne Community Action Agency took another step forward Thursday night at the Columbia Planning Commission meeting.
?The Commission considered a request for zone review permits to install three manufactured housing units on a parcel in the Columbia Community,? says Community Development Director Bev Shane. ?The project was reviewed by the Commission, a public hearing was held, and after hearing no opposition, they did approve a design review permit.?
Shane notes that the permit approved is only related to the appearance of the structures, as the project itself had already been approved through a rezoning action voted through by the Board of Supervisors.
The transitional housing project will be located near the Columbia Sky Mobile Home Park. Once ATCAA acquires a building permit, contractors will be able to begin construction. The homes will be available for families who are going through tough times and have young children.
