Supervisors Set For Final Meetings Of The Month
Sonora & San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will take up the issue Tuesday of whether to allow a former asbestos mine near Copperopolis to be used as a dumping site for old tires.
California Asbestos Monofill, Inc. is requesting a conditional use permit and a zoning change for 675 acres located five miles southeast of Copperopolis off O´Byrnes Ferry Rd. Back in June, the Calaveras County Planning Commission recommended approval of the project. Tuesday´s meeting begins at 9am at the Government Center in San Andreas.
Meanwhile in Tuolumne County, the Board of Supervisors will hear a report from the Public Works Department in regards to mitigation funds for fiscal year 2007/08. The Board is also planning to approve the 2008/09 County and District Property Tax Rates. The meeting will start at 9am at the County Administration Center.
