Veterans Day To Be Observed Tuesday

Sonora, CA — Veterans Day will be observed tomorrow which dictates that all federal, state and local governmental offices along with banks will be closed.

In addition there will be no U.S. Postal delivery and the supervisorial meetings scheduled for Tuolumne and Calaveras counties will be on hiatus for the holiday.

All schools in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties will also be closed. A number of Tuolumne County schools are closed today including Chinese Camp, Curtis Creek, Jamestown, Summerville Elementary, Summerville Union High School and the Twain Harte-Long Barn School District.

VFW Posts 47 and 48 will hold a Veterans Day celebration honoring all vets tomorrow starting at 11am at Tuolumne Memorial Hall. The Native Daughters of the Golden West Past President Association will host a Veterans Day spaghetti dinner at the Angele O´Conner Hall on Main Street in Murphys at 5pm.
