Support Organization To Assist Calaveras County Fair
Angels Camp, Ca — A new support organization has been formed to help raise additional funding for the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.
The ?Friends of the Fair? met Monday evening at the Frog Town offices to discuss goals and elect officers.
?The Fair itself and the other events that occur at the Fairgrounds are sufficient to create an operating budget for the Fair, provided that there are no disasters,? says Board Vice President Bob Trinchero. ?But it doesn´t allow us to create the kind of capital funding necessary for improvements on the grounds and other types of improvements that might generate sustaining revenue.?
Three new members were elected to the Board on Monday, and they include Rob Miller, Jeff Johnson and Jack Boeding. They join Trinchero, Firman Brown, Rick Downey, Jeri Mills, Tim Folendorf and Kathy Mazzaferro.
The initial goals of the group include expanding the youth scholarship program, improving the air conditioning system at Mark Twain Hall and expanding the Cattlemen´s area located behind the arena.
Officers include Angels Camp rancher Firman Brown (President), Trinchero will serve as vice-president, Kathy Mazzaferro of San Andras becomes secretary and the group´s treaurer is Jerri Mills.
