Fire And Smoke Hit Calaveras High School

San Andreas, CA — CAL Fire´s Emergency Command Center received a call from the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department at 2:42 this morning. There was concern about an odor and some visible smoke in the Calaveras High School building.
San Andreas fire units were dispatched. Aid in seeking out the source of the fire was provided by Altaville-Melones Fire, Angels Camp Fire Department, Mokelumne Hill Fire and Foothill Fire.
The source of the smoke was eventually found at an elevator. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
