Three Mother Lode Residents Jailed For Possession
Sonora, CA — 54 year old Donald Edward Coleman of Jamestown, 50 year old Dennis James Murphy of Jamestown and 55 year old Beverly Ellen Bryant of Twain Harte are now residents of the Tuolumne County Jail.
At 9:45 Wednesday evening, Deputy Robert Nikiforuk stopped Coleman´s 1983 GMC pickup at Seco St. and Preston Lane in Jamestown because the license plate was unreadable. A search of Coleman´s person revealed a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe and a baggie of methamphetamine. Coleman´s bail was set at $20,000.
Shortly after 10pm deputies Rich Champlin and Justin Teunissen made a stop of a 1984 Ford Ranger pickup truck on Tuolumne Rd. near Summerville High School for defective vehicle lighting. A search of passenger Murphy´s duffel bag revealed methamphetamine smoking paraphernalia, packaging materials and electronic scales. $20,000 was set for Murphy´s bail.
At 12:15am, Deputy Tim Wertz stopped Bryant´s 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier for a vehicle lighting violation. In addition to an expired driver´s license, no proof of insurance and an altered registration tab, Wertz discovered a hypodermic needle and a ziplock baggie containing a small amount of methamphetamine. Bryant´s bail was set at $10,000.
