Sonora Pass Closed For Construction
Sponsored by:
Bishop, Ca — Despite opening for the season last week, Sonora Pass is now closed from the junction of U.S. 395 to the Sonora Pass Summit.
According to Caltrans Spokesperson Troy Bowers, workers are in the midst of a $531, 000 project consisting of the replacement of twenty-nine culverts along the roadway.
On May 9th, the stretch will be re-opened and the remainder of the work will be performed using traffic control. The public is advised to expect up to twenty-minute delays. The anticipated completion date is Sept. 7th.
