Katie May Broderick Seeks Mother Lode Round Up Queen Honors
Sonora, CA — Sonora High School junior Katie May Broderick says it´s always been a dream of hers to be crowned the queen of such a special event.
She adds the toughest part of the competition has been learning how to model. Now, though, she says she feels comfortable with that aspect as well as giving speeches and preparing for the Saturday horsemanship.
Broderick practices with her mount, Too Much, every day preparing to compete against the other three queen candidates: Melissa Hankins, Missi Elliott and Jessica Haynie.
So far the greatest joy has been meeting so many people who are, in some manner, associated with the Round Up.
As far as the future is concerned, Broderick says she will probably attend Columbia College to determine exactly what she would like to do for the rest of her life.
This year´s Mother Lode Round Up is set for Mother´s Day Weekend, May 12-13.
