Mother Nature Smiles Kindly On 50th Mother Lode Round-Up Parade
Sonora, CA — Sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 70´s graced the 50th edition of the Mother Lode Round-Up Parade Saturday.
The Tuolune County Sheriff´s Posse Color Guard opened the parade promptly at 10am. The Color Guard was immediately followed by Sheriff-Coroner Jim Mele.
Among the first 15 groups: this year´s Grand Marshall(s), The Shady Ladies, 25th District Assemblyman Tom Berryhill, Mother Lode Round-Up Queen Katie May Broderick and the three runnersup and Rodeo Clown Bert Davis.
The Sonora High Golden Regiment Marching Band along with the Summerville High Orange Crush Band entertained the patrons. Also on hand the Korean War Veterans Association of Sonora and the athletes from Tuolumne County Special Olympics just to name a few of the 160 plus entries.
A crowd estimated at some 15,000 turned out for the Washington St. spectacular that ran from Restano Way to the historic Red Church.
