Calaveras Gets OES Grant
Sponsored by:
San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County has heard from state Office of Emergency Services officials that the county will be the recipient of a $70,000 grant.
The 2007 pre-disaster mitigation grant program would pay for a local hazard mitigation plan.
The countywide plan is required to receive FEMA funding.
Undersheriff Mike Walker says such funding would be used to correct the Cosgrove Creek flooding issues.
The grant requires a 25 percent match.
This is the third time the county has applied for this grant and the first time to have it awarded.
