Californian Dies From West Nile

Kern County, Ca — State health officials say a Kern County woman has become the first person in California to die from the West Nile Virus this year.
The elderly woman´s name was not released. Seven people in Kern County and one in the San Joaquin Valley have become ill from West Nile infections so far this year.
The mosquito-born virus has been detected in 30 of California´s 58 counties, including Tuolumne and Calaveras.
