Cops & Kids Fair Coming To Sonora
Sonora, CA — The Cops and Kids Fair is coming up Saturday at the Sonora Elementary School´s soccer field between noon and 3pm.
Everything at the event is free for youngsters and their families including plenty of food and even a cops´ dunk tank along with a bicycle rodeo.
A special raffle will be held for those who have collected all 32 of the department´s trading cards. Some of the prizes for the drawings include a Nintendo Wii video game, two 20 inch Magnavox TV/DVD combos, two skateboards, six bicycles and a number of gift certificates from Wal-Mart and Regal Cinemas. There will also be a drawing for those who have just started collecting the cards that are distributed on a weekly basis at the Police Department.
Lt. Mark Stinson says the purpose of the Fair is to promote a positive relationship between law enforcement and community members.
Other agencies involved include the Sheriff´s Department, the Highway Patrol, Cal Fire, the Air Med helicopter, Sonora Fire Department and Tuolumne County Ambulance.
