Sonora To Receive $400,000 For Road Improvements
Sonora, CA — Sonora is in line to receive $400,000 over the next three years for road and street improvements.
The funding is a result of the passage of Proposition 1B which is a portion of the $40 billion infrastructure bond package (Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air Quality and Port Security Act) that was passed by the voters last November. This fiscal year California cities will be receiving $550 million of the approved funds.
Later this fall the City Council will review project recommendations from the Public Works Committee that will formulate a list of priorities for road and street repair.
City Administrator Greg Applegate is hopeful that work can begin in the spring of 2008.
