Sonoran Captures Statewide Award
Sonora, CA — Former Sonora Elementary teacher and administrator Linda Crocker has been named the statewide Elementary Co-Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA).
Crocker was not only a student at Sonora El, but she also spent 36 years in her two roles. She led her staff in the research and adoption of the Step Up To Writing program which was eventually adopted countywide. Crocker also established an English learner community group to help parents feel included and comfortable at the school.
As the primary person in charge of student discipline, Crocker established firm but fair expectations that nurtured positive student behavior. A key component; gaining parents´ trust.
Besides serving as an active member of ACSA, Crocker has belonged to the Rotary Club for 20 years. She is also a member of the Central Sierra Arts Council, the Sierra Repertory Theater, the Black Hat Foundation and Community Christmas Baskets.
Crocker will be one of 19 award recipients at ACSA´s statewide banquet Friday, November 9 in Santa Clara.
