Supervisors Vote To Cut Services At TGH
Sonora, CA — After countless meetings and hours of public comment, the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors has finally made a decision regarding Tuolumne General Hospital.
After two hours of discussion Tuesday, Supervisor Dick Pland made a motion to retain the Mother Lode Medical Center the Acute Psychiatric Unit, the Long Term Care Unit, The Clinics and the Sonora Adult Day Health Care with operating efficiencies.
All other services will be eliminated or reduced to implement the reduction of acute care services. County staff will return on Tuesday June 6th with a draft implementation plan which will include critical path actions and timelines.
Supervisor Paolo Maffei was the only one to vote no on the motion, and stated that he would like staff to explore more options with the Sierra Conservation Center.
There was also a consensus from the board that staff explores the possibility of taking the TGH issue to a vote of the public in November. That report is expected before August.
