C.H.P. Officers Injured

Valley Springs, CA –Saturday evening two C.H.P. officers were injured in an accident on Highway 12 near Valley Springs.
Officers Daniel Lopez and Scott Pierson were westbound when they attempted to make a U-turn. Lopez could not complete the turn and in the process the C.H.P. cruiser was hit broadside by a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina driven by 70 year old Richard Ingram. The Lumina rolled over on the highway embankment.
Ingram and a female passenger suffered injuries to their backs, necks and hands. The two officers, based out of Sacramento, suffered minor injuries and were released from a hospital that evening.
Lopez and Pierson were in the area helping to police the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.
