Angels Camp Meets On General Plan
Angels Camp, CA — The last step for the long awaited Angels Camp General Plan is nearing completion.
A revised Circulation Element will be reviewed by the General Plan Committee Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Angels Camp Fire House on Highway 4.
The revision was at the request of the City Council which wanted another look at the Greenhorn Creek Road project. It´s included in the Circulation Element as a potential bypass for Highway 49. However, residents in and around Greenhorn Creek feel it could become a major thoroughfare.
Planning Director Kaye Simonson says the meeting will be to gain a consensus on the road issue.
This is expected to be the committee´s final meeting, after which a draft final General Plan will be prepared.
The Planning Commission will then review the document before it heads to the City Council.
Simonson says an Environmental Impact Report will also be prepared, which will cost around $115,000.
