Stolen Peace Pole Recovered

Arnold, CA — A peace pole that was stolen from White Pines Park in 2003 has been found on a nearby U.S. Forest Service road.
The pole was originally put up in 2001 by the Arnold Rotary Club. It stood to symbolize world peace.
After the pole was cut down in 2003 by vandals, a second one was erected in 2004.
A team of Calaveras County Sheriff´s deputies recovered the pole Sunday after receiving an anonymous tip. The pole was found on Forest Road 5N52 Northeast of Manuel Peak just outside the town of Arnold.
